A Try at Poetry

I watch you,
as you stumble towards her back door
My secret silence is sluggishly strangling me
Your unfortunate uniqueness is unquestionable-ly
unyielding me

I watch you,
the sight of your face feels like seeing someone who I’ve never known
A stranger
I think of saying your name
it dies in my mouth
like betrayal to my wretched heart

I watch you,
as you reach for her hand
Feel my insides race to smother each other
as I watch what was once mine,
become another’s.

It doesn’t matter so much, does it?
when you can’t feel the beating in
your rib cage, Anymore.

when you can’t sense your heart
as it falls
and splinters
all over the universe
At least it’s not yours anymore.
