"We will meet here every year on this date and at the same time, no matter what."
All friendships have a different way of working out. The start, middle and end is unique in it's own way, it's all in the details.
We have a different kind of friendship. We made a pact when we turned 18, we were supposed to leave the city for university.
We'd known each other for 5 years by then, inseparable we were called. We lived by it.
Every year we met at the graveyard, same date and same time, it was like religion-rigid.
Every year we met there and spent the entire day together, going for lunch, eating ice cream and goofing around; and of course, talking about our lives. It was always the best day of the year, always.
It still is, I met her today; we spent all day together. I kept talking, she was silent though.
I'd be worried if she spoke though, dead people don't talk, do they?
She passed away in an accident last month, just at the five year mark.
We were good together, amazing. People long for such friendships, I lived through it for 10 years, and it's amazing.
We had the friendship that lasts, you don't get that much now.
